Ghetto Testing
Today, I listened to a talk from Joshua Schachter which he gave at the Future Of Web Applications conference in London. The talk is great. Lots of nice ideas about interface design, testing, scalability, tagging, testing,... So you have to know that I have quite some knowledge when it comes to testing. I read lots of stuff about smoke testing, soap opera testing or exploratory testing. But today I learned a new term Ghetto Testing. Everyone knows that renting test labs is rather expensive for usability testing. A cheap alternative is Ghetto Testing. Grab your laptop. Go to a cafe with an internet connection and start talking to customers. Offer them a drink for their efforts and show them your application. Really cool idea and hopefully I will be able to try this one for myself one day. Download the whole talk here or check out notes here.
