I still remember how my father and I investigated the sky through a telescope during those crystal clear summer nights and learned more about the Universe. Yesterday at TED Microsoft presented for the first time their new project WorldWide Telescope which allows anybody to explore the Universe just by using their computer.

From what I can see the execution of the idea is absolutely stunning. I can't wait to show it to my father.

The offical site for the project can be found here.
In a world of death-by-powerpoint a small group of speakers demonstrate that creative slideshows are still possible. Have a look at this one:

Thanks to Coulix for sending it along.
I blogged before about Lawrence Lessig presentation style. Especially his usage of slides. Thanks to TED everybody can now see what a brilliant speaker he is and the way he supports his talks with slides.

By the way he is not only a brilliant guy but also a truly inspiring person who founded the creative commons organization.
I am happy to announce that I was accepted to do another BOF session after the one in Melbourne in June. This one has the title "Exploratory testing or ways to improve your manual testing skills..." and will be a part of the SDN Community Day in Munich on the 16th of October.

SAP TechEd '07: See you at Community Day!

Exploratory testing is an interesting topic. It is one of those activities which everybody is doing but nobody is aware of it and therefore it is hard to improve this skill. Usually I am more known for talking passionately about automated testing so it is nice to venture into different territory this time. So if you are interesting in learning something new about software testing attend my session. For all the people who cannot attend I will post all interesting resources here for review.
TED is still the only website which I can recommend to everybody. There are just too many interesting and inspiring talks. This one was given by Stefan Sagmeister and the title of his talk is Yes, design can make you happy.

The life instructions and his list of lessons about life can be found here.
