I studied 1,5 years in Sydney, Australia for a master degree in information technology at Macquarie University. Right from the start I decided that I wanted to maintain a blog about living and studying in Australia. I had two goals. First provide information for German students who want to study in Sydney. Second reflect on the differences between German and Australian culture.

There are quite a lot of student blogs available but most of them are very personal and thereby not very interesting if you have no connection with the person behind the blog. In contrast my blog specifically tries not to bore the readers with personal details. It is more a mixture of travel guide, comments on society and coverage of interesting events which happen in Sydney.

One of the most exciting aspects of editing the blog was the possibility to integrate all kind of new technology into the articles. For example I created and embedded YouTube videos or used Google's map service for interactive maps. While the blog will not be updated anymore once I am back in Germany, it will still be online for students who are seeking for information about studying in Sydney.
